Korea July 2014 Gyeongju

22:55:00

it's 2014 and i'm writing here again after really long hiatus since 2 years ago(?)
anyway im writing here for my personal keepsake, bet nobody reads anyway

there's a post floating on fb saying how you can go on a vacay to seoul under the budget of S$1000... i'd say it's unattainable for me
flight itself was S$700 hence you can do the math.
Besides, the cost of living is costlier compared to singapore, you can forget about saving your bucks.

on flight to incheon in the morning... it was freezing when the plane crossed the s china sea(?) i had blanket covered up till to my nose i kid you not

reached incheon and on our way to m's house (approx. 5hrs away)
initially m messaged y telling us that she wouldn't be at the airport to pick us up (as promised)
and y took m words for real LOL
y hence repeatedly apologized to us hahaha jokes on us three
on our way out of the arrival gate we saw m
....
anyway in short m surprised us, we were surprised indeed
after 2hr -ish of bus ride we arrived at the rest stop
tho it's summer, their tap water was ice cold which was reallyyyy strange

after an entire day of travelling we finally reached our destination which is m's house in freaking pohang. m's dad came to fetch us from the bus terminal.
honestly, at 11pm the neighborhood was really not brightly lit and her apartment was inaccessible and extremely quiet.
met some of her neighbors in the lift and i think we broke all the rules in korea hahaha
we were supposed to greet strangers as a form of courtesy but us being a singaporean it just isn't the social norm to do that in sg hence the situation in the lift.
pretty funny to see m being all awkward because of her rude friends (us, no shame)
the following morning m's mom made breakfast for all of us (ref. table) their bread is on the sweeter side, and it beats me why
it was a really good breakfast tho

we initally woke up with no itinerary in mind 'cause there isn't much to do in gyeongju in summer
hence we decided on gyeongju world

that place is like the escape theme park for secondary school kids?
but the rides' safety belts were so loose you wouldn't feel safe at all
in fact terribly afraid my god
there weren't many rides that adults can ride in the park hence i don't suggest visiting there unless you really have nothing else to do in gyeongju
this person almost puked on the 'tornado' ride. it spins like a bitch and lifts your butt off the seat with your torso completely parallel to the ground when you're up in the air
i don't find it scary, it's just annoys me that the duration of the ride is too long
all smiles for the camera
bought churros it was like 3k krw per stick and it was piping hot
later that afternoon, we headed to the bear museum
price of admission ticket was 9k krw. i'm not that into bears compared to y
meaning she forced us all to visit that place
it seems like i only have negative review up the this point of the post but frankly speaking, unless you're obsessed with bears this is not the place for you
i know stop it with the negativity LOL
short lecture by polar bear-nim on consuming only the small and medium-sized fishes but just not the shark hahaha
i was only amused by this lecture
 many dslr photos by m

bears being all gangsta robbing the bank

i have weird friends, really
not amused
above photos are proof that korean uv rays are reallyyyyy strong
we were struggling to keep our eyes opened for the outdoor photos
i haz the selfie controller i iz the king face
we had lunch at an local eatery. the portion was so big that we couldn't finish them all
it was great tho. the korean spicy paste thingy that makes you want to eat more (aka improve appetite)
approx. 12k krw per pax
went to rest at a lakeside park just right behind the eatery

we be taking photos everyday
had a traditional korean breakfast in the morning and we set off to seoul right after

on the cab to the ktx station!
